Frequently Asked Questions

Registration begins at 7:30 am and concludes around 4:45 pm.

As long as there is not major snowstorm or severe weather, our event will go on as planned.  The University is located right off of the PA Turnpike Rt 43, and the highway is well maintained.  In case of a weather event, we will send out an email and post on this site.  

Adults attending for the day may purchase a lunch for $10.  Please register as an adult on the registration page.

All Scouts should bring a notebook and something to write with.  They may also want to bring a water bottle with them for the day.

Blank copies of the Annual Medical, parts A and B, as well as permission slips are available at the event.

You have several options for group camping.  Cedar Creek Park, run by Westmoreland County, is close by along with Mingo Creek Park which is run by Washington County.  You will need to contact them directly for space.  Our own Camp Anawanna, in Amity, PA is about 40 minutes away.

Our Annual Merit Badge University occurs during Penn West's Spring Break.  We are the only thing happening on campus at that time.

Our classes fill up fast once registration opens.  You can certainly register your Scout the day of our event, however we cannot guarantee what classes will be available for them.  We will do our best to get them into a class, but all classes have a maximum number of attendees.  

There is a parking lot across the street from Eberly Hall.  There is no charge for parking in this lot.  P;lease refer to the map of the campus.

You will not be allowed to stay at the event.

You must bring the Non-Resident Clearance Form available on the home page under Forms You Need.

There are no specific adult classes being offered at this time.  We do have access to computers for any online training you may want to complete.

Not al all.  Any registered Scout can attend no matter what Council they are registered in.
